Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in the setup and troubleshooting of production lines, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Support the development and revision of manufacturing work instructions, routings, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify inefficiencies or quality issues.
  • Perform hands-on fabrication, testing, or mechanical assembly tasks to support prototyping or production ramp-up.
  • Maintain records of engineering changes, test results, and technical data.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to ensure alignment with AS9100 and internal standards.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI), process validations, and configuration control activities.
  • Assist with time studies, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering Technology (or equivalent technical field); Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering support role, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and defense manufacturing practices.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and manufacturing documentation practices.
  • Comfortable with mechanical tools, inspection instruments, and basic shop equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma principles.
  • CAD or CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Exposure to composite, machining, welding, or electronic assembly processes.
