Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all aspects of technical performance, quality performance, and schedule performance.
- Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness.
- Work closely with the COO and cross-functional partners on manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations.
- Play an active role in senior-level negotiations and relationship building with client companies and manufacturing partners.
- Strong leadership and management skills to enable the creation of a highly capable and sustainable Manufacturing and Operations Function.
- Action-oriented and innovative in leading the Manufacturing and Operations Function.
- Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
- Skilled in manufacturing processes of Aerospace of Defense industry and knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma process improvements.
- Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems, while applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.
- Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions to ensure and sustain leading edge capabilities.
- Oversee the management of employees and operations of the company's manufacturing function, whether in-house or sub-contracted.
- Evaluate the assignment of resources to meet the needs of the Production Facilities.
- Ensure enforcement of company policy and regulations relating to safety, attendance, conduct and other plant rules.
- Mentor and coach personnel and make recommendations to Human Resources for other training as needed or required.
- Perform timely annual evaluations of direct reports.
- Coordinate manufacturing activity to ensure that the total effort is directed toward optimizing the quality and cost effectiveness to meet company goals and objectives.
- Keep abreast of industry technical changes and make recommendations for training of supervisor personnel.
- Develop and submit annual capital expenditure and expense budget.
- Utilize budgeted resources, including, but not limited to manpower, equipment and facilities for the purpose of reducing costs and improving efficiency.
Education and Experience:
- B.S or M.S. Degree in Engineering, with minimum of 5 years' experience at a Director of Manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment with excellent English written and oral communications skills
- Strong subject matter background in aerospace manufacturing and Defense products.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Aerospace or Defense OEMs.
- Demonstrated experienced running aerospace of Defense manufacturing facilities in both prototype and series production programs.
- Charismatic Leader and Manager that can quickly develop constructive and positive working relations with peers, customers, and subordinates.
- Experience with ERP System design and implementation.
- Ability to achieve high-level results within a challenging environment.
- Proven ability to reduce manufacturing unit cost and increase contribution to gross margins.
- Strong planning, organization and communication skills
- High-level attention to detail.
- Must be a US Person as defined by ITAR (22CFR 120.15
