Key Responsibilities:
- Administer export compliance activities in accordance with:
- U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Internation Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- U.S. Customs regulations
- Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
- Classify products, components, and technical data under EAR/ITAR guidelines.
- Prepare and review export documentation including:
- Commercial invoices
- Shipper's Export Declarations (SED/EEI)
- Bills of lading
- Certificates of origin
- Coordinate export license applications and monitor license provisos.
- Conduct restricted party screenings and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain contracts, and program management teams to ensure compliant shipments.
- Support internal and external compliance audits.
- Maintain export records in accordance with regulatory retention requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters.
- Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Required Qualifications:
- Mandatory Certification:
- Export Customs Specialist Certificate OR Export Specialist Certificate
- 3-7 years of experience in export compliance, customs administration, or trade compliance within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and export compliance software tools.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpacked, regulated environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with defense contracts or controlled technical data.
- Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications.
- Experience supporting government audits or voluntary disclosures.
- Bachelor's degree in international business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- A Certified Export Specialists is preferred.
