Southern Ionics is hiring an Accounting Assistant at our West Point, Mississippi corporate offices. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking for hands-on experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities in an established company, with strong potential for advancement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities.
2. Maintain supplier table in ERP system.
3. Provide credit information and complete applications for suppliers.
4. Review and approval of expense reports.
5. Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and customer/supplier transaction analysis.
6. Assist with accounting audits.
7. Prepare reports as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support accounting group by fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.
2. Make recommendations to management for problem resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business.
2. Accounting experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
