CDL Truck Driver

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced heavy civil construction environment.

• Safely operate company trucks (dump truck, service truck, water truck, etc., depending on license class and endorsements).
• Haul materials such as dirt, gravel, asphalt, aggregates, equipment, and job-related supplies to designated locations.
• Perform proper pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, etc.
• Assist with loading and securing materials or equipment to ensure safe transport.
• Communicate and coordinate with dispatch, foremen, and project managers to fulfill daily hauling needs.
• Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and DOT/FMCSA requirements at all times.
• Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or equipment needs immediately.
• Keep trucks clean, fueled, and in proper working condition.
• Provide general labor or assistance on job sites when hauling needs are slow, if required.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

• Valid CDL
• Clean driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing (pre-employment and random).
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA driving regulations and proper load securement.
• Experience operating dump trucks or hauling construction materials preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
