Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply new engine performance specifications to end-of-line hot test for new engine programs
  • Create and maintain project schedules and budgets for new product introduction to end-of-line hot test
  • Specify new equipment and other resources for end-of-line test prior to new product launch
  • Implement process changes on time and in budget for new product launch
  • Implement test equipment changes by managing order specification, engineering design, and acceptance testing from 3rd party vendors.
  • Lead and participate in multiple simultaneous engineering efforts for new product development projects
  • Assist process engineers with documenting manufacturing processes for new product: SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, layout studies, cycle time analyses, financial analyses

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
  • 1-2 years experience in automotive manufacturing or related field
  • Extensive experience with software program language
  • Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
    • Proven problem-solving skills
    • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
    • Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals
  • Desired

    • 3-5 years experience in powertrain manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, or new product launch
    • Experience with FEV Test Cell Manager and/or Morphee Software
    • Understanding of diesel engine function and application
    • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
    • Experience in a simultaneous engineering style project environment
