Columbus Brick, a division of General Shale Brick, is seeking an Electrician to troubleshoot and maintain electrical and automated systems for our facility in Columbus, MS. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Understanding and applying electrical schematics
• Using various devices, including amp meters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools
• Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, conduit, breakers and other electrical devices
• Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase motor circuits
• Diagnose and repair VFD faults and motor starter issues
• Troubleshoot sensors (photoeyes, prox switches, encoders)
• Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems
• Maintain MCCs, control panels, and shop
• Be able to complete work in a timely manner
• Documenting the work completed and materials used
• Be able to work with other electricians, contractors, supervisors and other team members

Applicants should possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of:

• Understanding of NFPA 70E safe work practices
• Experience performing proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Motor Control Circuits
• Variable Frequency Drives (Siemens, Danfoss, Sew)
• Experience with Plc systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradely)
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed and on an on-call rotation
