THE JOB

Burns Dirt is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our maintenance facility. This is an ideal role for a recent high school graduate or entry-level candidate looking to gain hands-on experience in heavy equipment and trucking maintenance. The candidate assists the maintenance team by performing general labor tasks, equipment cleaning, parts deliveries, and facilities upkeep.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wash and clean trucks and heavy equipment using pressure washers and cleaning tools
• Perform basic yard maintenance including mowing, weed-eating, and trash pickup
• Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and supplies from local vendors
• Assist mechanics and technicians with basic tasks as directed
• Organize and maintain shop inventory, tools, and equipment
• Keep shop and yard areas clean, organized, and safe
• Fuel vehicles and equipment as needed
• Track deliveries and maintain accurate logs of parts and supply runs
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and perform physical labor
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with basic tools or mechanical interest is a plus
